While in the US a lot of people are into the presidential elections, in Colombia, my country, is into voting or not to accept the Peace treaty that FARC is offering and the government is accepting. There is much to say about something like this, more than 50 years of guerrilla wars, had turned Colombia into a culture of war, drugs, corruption, and more, and still so much skepticism.

 

      I don't think much people believe in a real change, coming from all this, but the question is: What are you doing to live in a peaceful society?? What are you doing to contribute? Timochenko, the leader of the biggest Colombia guerrilla apologized to all the victims. At least, for me, that is a historic moment. This coming Sunday, Colombia will vote yes or no, to vote for the model to incorporate all political ideologies in a civil process, instead of keep going with an open conflict. It takes a group effort and hopes that ALL can do it!!!

           With so many people just laughing about the process, I still have a hard time with so many points of the treaty, and still, I want to believe not for me, but for the country, for new generations, to believe that it can be different, that we can achieve, someday, peace. And still, it worries me to see so much hate, so many individuals that preach war, and think this is the way for our world to keep going on. So maybe, this world, this generation, is not ready to achieve peace???

 

 

I WANT TO SEE A BETTER WAY, AT LEAST I WANT TO TRY!!!!! PEACE, IT STARTS WITH ME!!

Mientras en los Estados Unidos muchos estan pendientes de las eleciones presidenciales, en Colombia, mi país, estarán votando para aceptar el tratado de paz con las FARC y el gobierno. Hay mucho que decier acerca de esto, después de mas de 50 años de guerra con la guerrilla, Colombia se ha convertido a una cultura de guerra, drogas, corrupción y más y aún así tanto cinismo!!

     Tanta falta de fe!! No creo que muchos crean en un cambio real, y viniendo de esto, hago esta pregunta: Que estan haciendo para vivir en una sociedad de paz? Que estan aportando para contribuir para una sociedad mas llena de paz? Y esto toma un esfuerzo de todos y fe de que todos podemos!! Ayer, Timochenko, el líder de la guerrilla mas grande de Colombia, se disculpo con todas las victimas. Por lo menos para mi, esto es un acto historíco. Este próximo Domingo, Colombia votará por el si o el no, para que se puedan incorporar las ideas de estos grupos guerrilleros en el proceso político, en vez de seguir en un conflicto armado.

 

      Con tanta gente riendose de todo esto, yo también tengo problemas para entender como puede se puede hacer una realidad un acuerdo de paz. Para el país, para las nuevas generaciones, el creer que algo puede ser diferente, que se puede alcanzar algun día la paz significa tener esperanza. Todavía me preocupa ver tanto odio, tantas personas que aman la guerra, y que creen que esta es la única manera de actuar en el mundo en el que vivimos. Tal vez, este mundo, esta generación, no estará lista para la paz??

 

YO QUIERO VER UN CAMINO MEJOR, AL MENOS INTENTARLO!!! LA PAZ, EMPIEZA CONMIGO!!
