SUMMER ROAD TRIP/VIAJE DE VERANO

After much dreaming, I was determined to get out from our usual places and go to a summer trip. We didn't count with tons of money and sadly my partner was not able to take time off work, the only option for us was going away without him. Doing this with two kids was not easy, but thanks to a good and equally crazy friend, we decided to take our kids (she also has two kids), pack the car (it wasn't easy) with four kids and tons of camping stuff and go to New Hampshire. We used our tents and also visited friends on the way there. It was magical but also a teaching experience. The kids got to learn many things on the way but I also learned many things about the way we teach kids, our socio-cultural differences and how hard is to go out from your comfort zone. I still feel that it was a great experience and also we really tried to speak Spanish every chance we had! This was our itinerary: We went from South Florida Gainsville to our friend's farm, the kids collected frogs and play at their little stream. From there to Griffin Georgia, to a friend's friend farm also. We were really glad to meet this sweet family that has a gorgeous farm. The kids really enjoyed their time there and we also realized that we needed to buy extra things for our trip, as more tarps because it was really going to rain. Our friend also took us to an animal sanctuary where they rescue animals call Noah's Ark. -After Georgia, we headed to Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. We drove by a beautiful place call Toccoa Falls in the way. It rained so much and we decided to stay at a hotel for one night and recharge. On the second day, we joined our friends for the craziest camping ever! lots of rain, lots of mud and in the middle of nature. We met many wonderful people that share the love for the environment. The kids really had a wonderful time despite that we were wet most of the time. 

Despues de soñarlo mucho, estaba determinada a salir de nuestros lugares habituales y embarcarnos en un viaje de verano. No contabamos con mucho dinero y lastimosamente mi compañero no podia coger tiempo fuera de su trabajo, la unica opcion era irnos sin el. Hacer esto con dos niños no era facil, pero gracias a una buena e igualmente loca amiga, decidimos coger nuestros niños (ella tambien tiene dos), empacar el carro (no fue nada facil) con cuatro niños y todos los checheres de camping y viajar hasta New Hampshire. Usamos las tiendas de campaña y tambien visitamos amigos en el camino. Fue magico pero tambien una experiencia de aprendizaje. Los niños aprendieron muchas cosas en el camino pero yo tambien aprendí acerca de la crianza, de como le enseño a mis hijos, de las diferencias socio-culturales y que dificil es salir de tu zona de comodidad. Todavia siento que fue una gran experiencia y tambien tratamos de hablar Español cada oportunidad de tuvimos! Este fue nuestro itinerario: Nos fuimos desde el Sur de la Florida hasta Gainsville a la granja de nuestros amigos, los niños coleccinaron sapos y jugaron en un pequeño arroyo. Desde allí para Griffin Georgia, a la granja de una amiga de una amiga. Tuvimos mucha suerte de conocer esta familia tan dulce y su hermosa granja. Los niños realmente disfrutaron su tiempo alli y nosotras nos dimos cuenta de que nos hacían falta muchas cosas para nuestro viaje, como una lona para poner encima de las carpas pues realmente iba a llover. Nuestra amiga también nos llevo a un santuario de animales donde los rescatan llamado Noah's Ark. Despues de Georgia, nos dirigimos a el Parque Nacional de Pisgah en Carolina del Norte. Llovió tanto que decidimos quedarnos una noche en un hotel para recargar las baterias. Al segundo día, nos reunimos con nuestros amigos para un campamento loquísimo! montones de lluvia, montones de lodo y en mitad de la naturaleza. Conocimos mucha gente maravillosa que comparten su amor por la naturaleza. Los niños realmente tuvieron un hermoso tiempo, considerando que vivimos practicamente mojados la mayoría del tiempo.
