Hoop Dance of the Lakota | Danza de aros lakota

A few months ago, we had the privilege to meet, hear and admire Lakota Hoop Dance and story telling from Kevin Locke. He is one of the many that believes in spreading knowledge around the world from the ancient culture. The knowledge and meaning of every step and every hoop on this dance, really teaches how intrinsic is our own existence and the existence of others around us, including all of the creation! Hearing that Kevin keeps with so much care all this knowledge pass to him by his elders to spread to new generations in schools and gatherings around the country makes me feel hopeful about what we can achieve in the future. For my children and I, understanding more about the first nations of the nation we lived at is also honoring the people who came to live on this continent before us, and in doing that hopefully, we can learn from their ways!! Hace unos meses, tuvimos el privilegio de conocer, escuchar y admirar el Danza de Aros de la Nación Lakota y los cuentos de Kevin Locke.
