Living in South Florida one of the places to visit is Key West! We were surprised to visit a few months ago with the kids and it was so much fun!! If you drive from Miami, just be aware that there is only one lane to go and another one to come back. So be aware of traffic. Also, the Keys are a group of islands that are very developed, so you won't see much nature itself unless you visit one of the parks. The road over the ocean in beautiful! This visit we decided to make it to Mile 0 in which the US 1 highway starts!! Key West is full of tourists and bars, also some museums and interesting points. We visited the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, my children love treasures. That was interesting but is really small, so if you don't like that kind of stuff, avoid. We walked around and ate key lime pie and ice cream and we met all the roosters and chickens of Key West. They roam free everywhere! It was hot, so we wanted to make it to the beach, so we went to Fort Zachary Taylor Beach. It was nice!! There we waited for the sunset and it was such a view!!! What a great way to end the day!! From there we drove back home with the full moon! We hope to come back soon and maybe stay in one of the islands with the kids!!
Al vivir en el Sur de la Florida uno de los lugares que se debe visitar es Key West! Estuvimos sorprendidos de visitar hace unos meses con los niños y nos divertimos mucho! Si vas a manejar desde Miami, ten en cuenta de que solo hay una via para ir y otra para venir, asi que ve avisado del trafico. Los Cayos son un grupo de islas muy habitadas, asi que no vas a ver mucha naturaleza a menos de que vayas a uno de sus parques. El camino por encima del mar es precioso! Esta visita decidimos llegar a la Milla 0, que es donde empieza la Ruta 1! Key West esta lleno de turistas y bares, algunos museos y lugares interesantes. Visitamos el Museo de Tesoros Marinos, a mis hijos les encantan los tesoros. Fue interesante y aprendimos mucho pero es pequeño, asi que si eso no te llama la atención mejor no entres. Caminamos por los alrededores y comimos Key Lime pie y helado y conocimos a todos los gallos y gallinas que caminan libres en Key West! Estan en todas partes!! Estaba haciendo calor y decidimos ir a la playa, fuimos a Fort Zachary Taylor, fue lindo! Allí esperamos el atardecer, fue expectacular! Que manera mas maravillosa de terminar el día! Después manejamos a casa acompañados de la luna llena! Esperamos regresar pronto y quedarnos en una de las islas con los niños!!
