Every year, the city of Lake Worth Fl, with the help of community partners and communities of faith, we remember the legacy of Mr. Luther King Jr. and we bring together many voices in our community that want to be heard. Every year a small march with candles is done toward the public plaza and where many local groups, schools and more, come to do a tribute to what we will like to see in our communities, care for all, safety and love.
At the end of the event, a beautiful dinner is prepared with love by the Lake Worth Interfaith Network.
At that celebration we have the opportunity to share with neighbors dances and songs and a community act, pretty sure that is the real spirit of Mr. King.
Till this day, we should never forget that the dream of Mr. King is still to be a reality, we have still much work to do in our struggle for justice and a system that indeed makes everyone feel part of their community with their own voice.
I am glad to say that we see many in our community that care for others, and are trying to make their voices be heard regardless of the polarization and hate that seems to keep permeating the news.
Our contribution would always be to side with the oppresed and look for justice for all of the groups in our community because only with this, we can really have real peace. Not with oppression, malignant pleas, disregarding accusations, violence toward the weak, displacement of the responsibility and feign ignorance. We believe we can do better in educating ourselves and the next generations on real equality and fair justice practices, in respect for everyones' faith.
What about starting with ourselves and our own communities, can be your own communities of faith, or social organizations. Are we advocating actively for accountability on the government and other organizations? Are we being vocal about injustices in our communities? Are we really allowing everyone that has a valid need to say what they need to say? Are we allowing groups that are not in power to participate in local decisions? Are these groups safe in our communities? Are we teaching youth and children to stop stereotyping? Are we educating public servants and ourselves on issues as racism, hate, white supremacism, xenophobia, antisemitism? Are we believing that which is convenient for us? Are we having a real diverse group of allies in our learning everyday interactions? I invite you to ponder in these questions the same way I do today. And let us really to have a commemoration of Mr. Luther King's legacy, not just a get-together.

Cada año, la ciudad de Lake Worth Florida, con la ayuda de la comunidad y comunidades de fe, recuerdan el legado de Mr. Martin Luther King Jr. y traen muchas voces juntas en la comunidad que desean ser escuchadas. Cada año una pequeña marcha es organizada con velitas hasta la plaza cultural de la ciudad en donde muchos grupos locales, como escuelas y mas, vienen a hacerle un tributo y a como nos gustaría ver nuestras comunidades, cuidado para todos, seguridad y amor.
Al final del evento, una bella cena es preparada con amor por el Lake Worth Interfaith Network.
En esta celebración tenemos la oportunidad de compartir con muchos bailes y canciones, estoy segura que muy en el espiritu de Mr. King.
Hasta este día, no debemos olvidar de que el sueño del Señor King todavia no es hecho realidad, todavia necesitamos trabaja por un sistema de justicia en el que todas las partes de nuestras comunidades sean escuchadas con voces propias.
Me siento feliz de ver tantos en la comunidad cuidar de otros, y que estan tratando de hacer que sus voces sean escuchadas sin importar el ambiente de polarización que permea las noticias.
Nuestra contribución, como siempre es acompañar a los oprimidos y buscar la justicia por estos grupos dentro de nuestra comunidad por que solo con esto, podemos llegar a una paz real. No con opresión, argumentos maliciosos, ignorando acusaciones, violencia en contra de los mas débiles, desplazamiento de la responsabilidad y pretender que somos ignorantes. Creemos que podemos hacer mejor en educarnos a nosotros mismos y las próximas generaciones en la igualdad y en practicas justas de la justicia, que respeten la fe de todos.
Pues empecemos con nosotros mismos y nuestras comunidades, pueden ser la comunidades de fe y organizaciones sociales.
Estamos apoyando activamente por un proceso de responsabilidad y seguimiento de nuestro gobierno y organizaciones? Estamos hablando sobre las injusticias en nuestras comunidades? Estamos permitiendo a todo aquel que presenta una necesidad valida hablar? Estamos permitiendo que los grupos que no estan en el poder contribuir en las decisiones locales? Estan estos grupos seguros en nuestras comunidades? Estamos enseñandole a los niños y jóvenes para parar los estereotipos? Estamos educando a los servidores públicos y a nosotros mismos en temas como el racismo, odio, supremacismo blanco, xenofobia, antisemitismo? Estamos creyendo cosas que son convenientes para nosotros? Estamos teniendo interacciones reales con groups de aliados en nuestras interaciones diarias? Les invito a pensar estar preguntas en la misma manera en las que yo lo hago hoy. Y espero de que podamos tener una conmemoración de el legado de Mr. King, no solo una fiesta mas.
