I am so glad that through this medium I had been able to discover so many other sites that are interested in creating a global learning to children of all ages. This is the case of Children World of Music from Daria. She has a beautiful site with so many activities and sources for all of you to learn more about different styles of music and cultures. Also, sells Cds. Did I mention that she also has sites in Spanish and German? Thanks to her invitation I decided to do the Pysanky eggs craft with my children at home. These eggs are a Ukranian craft that is super hard to make and beautiful. Our version is fun too! 1) We started with cleaning the egg shells (really well because you keep this eggs), use a nail to open the holes. 2) Prepare the dyes, you can use food coloring, food and spices you have around the house, or buy them. We like to experiment. 3) Prepare some candles to dip the brushes you are going to use. 4) Paint the designs. Remember what you paint in wax will remain white. 5) Dip the eggs in the dyes. 6) Remove wax. We use a hair dryer. 7) If you want a second layer of color we dip the eggs in vinegar and they took the second coating. The vinegar is to remove the remaining wax in the egg. 8) Use a big needle to string your egg and hang from whenever you like them.

 

 

Estoy tan feliz que a traves de este medio he podido descubrir tantos otros sitios interesantes que se dedican a crear una educacion global para niños de todas las edades. Este es el caso de Creciendo con Musica de Daria. Ella tiene un hermosisimo sitio con muchas actividades y recursos para aprender de diferentes estilos musicales y culturas. Tambien tiene Cds. Y he dicho que tiene sitios en Ingles y Aleman tambien? Gracias a su invitacion, decidi hacer los huevitos Pisanky con mis niños. Estos huevos son una hermosa manualidad Ukraniana, super dificil de hacer y preciosa. Nuestra version es linda tambien! 1) Empezamos limpiando los huevos bien (acuerdate que guardamos estos cascarones), usamos una puntilla para abrir los huequitos. 2) Preparamos los colores, puedes usar colorante de comidas, especias o frutos que tengas en la casa, o comprarlos. A nosotros nos gusta experimentar. 3) Prepara algunas velas para usar la parafina como pintura. Puedes usar pinceles de diferentes tamaños. 4) Pinta los diseños en los huevos. Acuerdate que lo que pintes con la cera permanece blanco. 5) Sumerge los huevos en los colores. 6) Remueve la cera. Nosotros usamos un secador de pelo. 7) Si quieres un segundo color nosotros sumergimos los huevos en vinagre para remover el resto de la cera y despues los sumergimos en el segundo color. 8) Usa una aguja gigante para ponerle cordon y cuelgalos de donde prefieras.
