We had been enjoying for several years the Fort Lauderdale celebration of the Day of the Dead!! So many things to do as a family!! Now is something that we look forward every year!! There have been different events every year, one time they had a family carnival with wonderful acts and a circus!! Also, exposition of altars, crafts, food trucks and dance and music events.
Our favorite part is the "desfile" that parades for a few blocks. We had been taking part of it for two years. My family and friends come together and help with the giant puppets and figures. The event has the potential of teaching culture to South Florida and at the same time makes it a family event.
For my family Day of the Dead is a great opportunity to learn about ancestors and culture, traditions and also to enjoy the time of being alive. Here are some of the pictures from last year:
Hemos estado disfrutando de la celebración del Día de los Muertos en Fort Lauderdale!!! Muchas actividades para disfrutar como familia!! Es una de esas cosas que esperamos con anticipación cada año!! Han habido diferentes eventos cada año, una vez tuvieron un carnaval familiar con un circo y otros actos!! También, exposición de altares, manualidades, camiones de comida, baile y música.
Nuestra parte favorita es el "desfile" que camina por algunas cuadras. Hemos participado de el por dos años. Mi familia y amigos se juntan para ayudar con las marionetas gigantes y las otras figuras. El evento tiene el potencial de enseñar la cultura en el Sur de la Florida y al mismo tiempo hacer un evento familiar.
Para mi familia el Día de los Muertos es una gran oportunidad para enseñar acerca de nuestros antepasados y la cultura, tradiciones y también acerca de disfrutar nuestro tiempo en esta vida. Aquí estan algunas fotos del año pasado:
Alegremente hemos ido a la celebración de la cultura y de artes en Fort Lauderdale Day of the Death. Mis hijos esperan ansiosamente ir cada año y ser parte de la procesión. Este año los bailes y la música de Bolivia, Chile y Méjico estuvieron presentes y fueron mas que maravillosas. Mis hijos las admiraron y tuve la oportunidad de hablarles sobre cada país. Ni que decir de los maravillosos trajes y maquillajes!!! Hasta hubo una pareja de chicas jovenes con un cartel acerca de la desaparición de los jóvenes en Méjico. Gladly we went to the cultural and arts celebration in Fort Lauderdale of Day of the Death. My children wait anxiously every year to take part of the procesional. This year the dances and music were from Bolivia, Chile y Mexico were present and were more than wonderful. My children admired them so much and I had the opportunity to talk about each country. And what about the beautiful dresses and attire!!!
