Where do you live?
I live in the south west of England.
How do you describe yourself ?
I am a homeschool mum to four children aged 1, 3, 6 and 9 and I blog at www.multiculturalmotherhood.com. I am also a Speech and Language Therapist specializing in bilingualism.
What do you do?
I run online courses for parents that empower parents to help their children. I decided to start running these courses as there has been a massive increase in the amount of children with speech and language delay and it is difficult for them to get help due to long waiting lists. My aim is to train parents to be able to help their children themselves because early intervention really makes a difference. I also have a course on how to raise bilingual children coming up later in the year so watch this space!
How many languages do you speak and sing?
English is my first language and I speak Turkish pretty well now because my husband is from Turkey. I also studied French and Italian at school so I can speak those conversationally. My parents speak Polish but they did not teach me unfortunately so I do not speak it well.
In which ways are you willing to help community and families (locally and worldwide)?
My aim is to empower parents with the knowledge and know how to help their children be the best they can be. Language is the basis of everything so language skills are extremely important. I want to help parents boost their children's language skills, whether it be in the majority or minority languages, so that they can thrive.

Dónde vives?
Yo vivo en el Sur Oeste de Inglaterra.
Cómo te describes?
Soy una madre que educa en casa a cuatro niños, con edades 1, 3, 6 y 9 y también tengo un blog www.multiculturalmotherhood.com. También soy una terapista de el habla, especializada en bilingüalismo.
Qué haces?
Yo tengo clases en la internet para ayudar a los padres a ayudar a sus hijos. Decidí empezar estas clases al ver la cantidad de niños con problemas de el habla y su dificultad para encontrar ayuda profesional. Mi enfoque es entrenar a los padrs para que ellos puedan ayudar a sus hijos ellos mismos porque la intervención temprana realmente hace la diferencia. También ofreceré una clase con enfasis en niños bilingües este año.
Qué idiomas hablas y cantas?
El Inglés es mi primer idioma y hablo Turco muy bien pues mi esposo es de Turquía. También estudié Francés e Italiano en la escuela pudiendo tener una conversación en estos idiomas. Mis padres hablan Polaco, pero desafortunadamente no me lo enseñaron asi que no lo hablo muy bien.
En que maneras estas dispuesta a ayudar a tu comunidad y familias (localmente y mundialmente)?
Mi meta es empoderar padres con el conocimiento para saber como ayudar a sus hijos de la mejor manera posible. El lenguaje es la base para todo y las habilidades en el lenguaje son extremadamente importantes, sin importar si es el lenguaje de la mayoría (país) o de la minoría (casa), los lenguajes pueden hacer la diferencia para vivir una vida plena.
