RAFAEL POMBO
When I was a child, for Christmas, one of my aunts gave me a gift that was one of my favorites, a giant coloring book of Rafael Pombo. I liked this book so much that I wanted to color the best way I could and I memorized a lot of its poems to repeated them to my family and friends!!!
Rafael Pombo is one of those figures that all Colombians had grown listened to and that we loved to learned from. I also think that is one of the Hispanic writers that are wonderful as an introduction to the little ones to Spanish Literature.
Rafael Pombo was born in Bogota, Colombia November 7 of 1983. At the age of 10, he was already interested in literature and had his own book named "Panteón Literario". Later on, he entered the seminary where he studied Latin and after that, he studied Math and Engineering, a field that he never works into. Curiously, he was always active in the literature scene and he lived in the United States 17 years of his life.
His poems and fables are an example of cleverness and leave a moral to learn. Lately, I had been wanting to be active and teach my kids some of his poems and fables. They have them on songs and also a great website that is in both languages.
Cuando era una niña, para unas Navidades una de mis tías me dió un regalo que paso a ser uno de mis favoritos, un libro gigante, para colorear de Rafael Pombo. Tanto me gustaba que queria colorearlo de lo mejor y me aprendí algunos de sus poemas para repetirselos a mi familia y amigos!!!
Rafael Pombo es una de esas figuras con las cuales todos los Colombianos hemos crecido y de los cuales siempre nos ha gustado aprender. Tambien diría que es uno de los autores en Español que son maravillosos para empezar a introducir a los pequeños a la literatura en Español.
Rafael Pombo nació en Bogotá, Colombia noviembre 7 de 1983. A la corta edad de 10 años ya estaba interesado por la literatura y tenía su propio libro literario nombrado "Panteón Literario". Después entro al seminario en donde estudio Latín y después se graduó de Matemáticas e Ingenieria, carrera que nunca ejercio. Curiosamente, fué siempre activo en la escena de la literatura y vivió 17 en Estados Unidos.
Sus poemas y fábulas definitivamente son una muestra de astucia y llevan una moraleja que aprender. Ultimamente, he pensado en ser más activa y enseñarle a mis niños algunas de sus fábulas y poemas. Los tienen en canciones y tambien tienen un sitio web que esta mágnifico.
